Botanical Inspiration Day #27: Magic! There is a sublime magic in a wee bit ‘o Tree Talk. Susan Branch, a California born dream maker who now lives in Martha’s Vineyard, calls upon the ancient wisdom of trees, flowers and a woman named Beatrix Potter to create her life’s work and purpose. “When I was younger, she (Beatrix Potter) was a big help in my search for my future self … I found her through her art, but … what really drew my interest was just HER, her story.” Inspiration can come from a person or a tree. The form is not important. The magic of the message is everything! In New England, they have sugar maples, holly, dogwoods, magnolia, sweet gum, cherries, yellow birch, linden, sycamore, and white oak, just to name a few. Test out a little Tree Talk with the species characteristic to your region. To find the uniquely hand-painted cookbooks and calendars of Susan Branch, look here … you might find yourself reconnecting with Beatrix Potter too! Magic abounds.
