Botanical Inspiration #9: The Oak Moss Lichen (tufted on left), Lace Lichen (fishnet pattern) and the Common Greenshield Lichen (rounded lettuce leaves.) These lichens do not represent single organisms, rather a partnership between a fungus and an alga. They are “air plants” which live on another plant while gathering water and nutrients from the air and rain. Life is a symbiotic experience. We are all in this together!
