Botanical Inspiration Day #2: Nothing says SURVIVAL like the Erodium or “filaree” flowering plant with its corkscrew tail. This tiny inch-long fruit seed falls to the ground from its parent plant — the tail coils and uncoils like a corkscrew in moist weather, digging itself further into the ground with each twist. Survival is the balanced dance between a flexible attitude and a stubborn will.

Ah, yes, or the tenacious little guys grab hold of my dog’s coat and burrow in. They are remarkable little designs and I can appreciate that fact, but they can be bothersome little hitchhikers too.
