December has arrived and heralds the season of inspirational hibernation. My surgery is scheduled for December 12, so I will be laying low and restoring over the holiday season. I’m reminded of the healing nature of botanicals when I return to my first image made 35 years ago. My goal this holiday hibernation is a botanical-a-day from now until the new year. That’s 31 days from now ’til then! On most days, my good days, the botanical will be a new one of my own foraging. On occasion, it will take the form of a botanical I created earlier this year, and at other times it will take the form of a botanical made by an artist I find inspiring. Botanical inspirations for healing and restoring. Let’s begin the count “up” to 2014.
Day #1: We go back in time 35 years to a simple black & white film image of birch bark. Nothing says WINTER like birch bark.
